DOWNING STREET AND BREXIT PRIORITIES FOR THE TRANSPORT INDUSTRY
11/12/2018
Each December, those working in the transport industry normally find themselves solely focused on the pre-Xmas peak season – arguably the busiest time of our entire year.
However, this year’s preparations are rather different, given that we are also having to devote considerable time to plan for the potential impact of Brexit.
As a successful company with extensive operations across Europe, Simarco has naturally taken a keen interest in what the shape of any eventual agreement on the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union will mean for ourselves and our clients.
Our interest was heightened by an invitation to join the Transport Secretary, Chris Grayling MP, in a ‘round-table discussion at 10 Downing Street within the last week on Brexit.

GROWTH PUTS SIMARCO FIRMLY ON MAP IN ESSEX
22/11/2018
Another year of success has propelled one of the UK’s leading independent logistics firms into the ranks of the largest companies in its home county.
After posting a near 29 per cent rise in turnover in the year to April, Simarco Worldwide has been included in an independent ranking of the 100 biggest home-grown businesses in Essex.
The results of the research mean that Simarco, which also saw profits up by a third in the same period, becomes one of only four logistics companies to make the list.
Managing Director Trevor Scott described the news as another indication of the firm’s forward momentum.

BREXIT: ACCORD AND SATISFACTION?
16/11/2018
A month ago and in the apparent absence of progress in talks on how the UK was to exit the European Union, Simarco published a white paper (https://simarco.com/index.php/news-media/68-state-of-the-nation-the-simarco-view) offering guidance on the options under consideration and the potential implications of each.
It was compiled as a result of extensive research and consultation, both with clients and individuals in Westminster and Brussels close to the respective negotiating teams.
We had a considerable response and a significant number of enquiries from businesses wanting help in making sure that they were prepared for whatever the outcome of the Brexit discussions.

STATE OF THE NATION: THE SIMARCO VIEW
STATE OF THE NATION: THE SIMARCO VIEW
11 October 2018
There are now only months left until the UK is no longer a member of the European Union.
Withdrawal promises to bring great change. For the time being, at least, no-one knows whether it will be for better or worse.
As I write, there is still no definitive word about what shape a Brexit deal will take or if there’ll even be a deal in place by the end of March next year.
That uncertainty has already had considerable impact on the economy and firms like yours and ours which contribute to it.
If agreement hasn’t yet been reached about the possibility of tariffs, for instance, how can companies adapt their business strategies?
