Simarco News...

Let's talk Turkey!

We are delighted to announce that as from April we are now working with our new partner Ran Logistics and their three main hubs in ISTANBUL, IZMIR and BURSA. Our export departures to all destinations depart every Friday via our Witham and Manchester terminals with a transit time of 5 days. Meanwhile we offer two import trailers per week loading every Tuesday and Friday from each departure point.

In addition to our standard road service we can offer transport by ocean containers, refrigerated vehicles, mega trailers, road trains and low loaders for out of gauge freight movements.

Simarco moves up a gear in the Benelux market.

In our endeavour to continually improve our service to and from the Benelux region we are now operating a daily service directly to each country ( Belgium previously served via Holland ), this will improve our transit time and keep costs to a competitive level. Meanwhile Luxembourg continues to be serviced via our adjacent hub in Saarbrucken Germany.

Simarco gets noticed around and about.

Locals in Braintree and Witham who commute by road everyday will have noticed our sponsorship of the roundabout adjacent to Wyvale and the Simarco signs advertising our European, Pallet and Logistics services. As we are now a significant employer in the area this is in keeping with the enhancement of our company image within the local community.

Now daily express to Madrid.

We are pleased to announce that since the beginning of the year we are now operating a daily express groupage service to Madrid. This latest innovation due to customer demand is in addition to our six other established platforms in Barcelona, Irun, Vigo, Alicante, Seville and Valencia which are served each way on a twice weekly basis’ and places Simarco at the very forefront of all carriers operating to and from Spain.

UKWA Finalists 2009

Against some formidable competition our dedicated team headed by Barry Spencer our Logistics Director were delighted to be finalist in two categories at the UKWA annual awards in September 2009. The Award was sponsored by Translift Bendi and we are aiming to achieve the top award next year.

Winners of the MAN Team Of The Year 2009

We are pleased to announce that Nina Hart our UK Transport Director was voted the MAN Every Woman in Transport Team of the year in May 2009 at the ceremony and luncheon at the Marriot Hotel Grosvenor Square London.

Nina’s progress has been remarkable at Simarco and she has turned a loss making department into well above the industry profit standard in a few short years managing our own fleet and our Palletforce franchise. Now at the young age of 33 she has achieved a well deserved directorship for her efforts.

Our new green livery draws admiring glances

In the last few months we have been introducing our smart new dark green livery on to our domestic fleet. The new colour and modern clean design is an image that we hope reflects our company culture and our awareness and responsibility towards the environment.

We add additional trailers to feed our Palletforce hub.

Simarco is proud to be a member shareholder in the Palletforce network. They are a vital link in our logistics chain and who operate from the largest pallet hub in the UK in Burton on Trent ( 38,000 sq m)

In just a few years we have risen to be consistently placed near the top of the ninety plus franchisees across the UK by weekly input volume of pallets. Due to our high volumes we have recently added to our fleet of double deck, fuel efficient, aerodynamic 40’ artics that depart every night from our Witham hub to ensure that the majority of our deliveries are effected the next day across mainland U.K.
